As the effects of the global pandemic finally fade, the team at Page Macrae Engineering are ready to cope with growing global demand for its specialty bulk cargo handling equipment, specialty production welding and engineering services.
With a heritage built on servicing the bulk shipping and engineering sectors, the 180 head team in Tauranga are geared up for growth with strong prospects for the year ahead.
Page Macrae’s clients are increasingly requiring equipment that is sensitive to the environment, minimising noise, dust and load losses to air and water, and the team has been working hard to meet that need. The company’s bulk cargo grab upgrades now include the new Enviro Diesel grab. They include a smaller, efficient four-cylinder engine, improved digging design, with reduced dust, and product losses. The next generation of market leading dust suppression hoppers for dusty material discharge are also now under design.
The past year has also seen Page Macrae recognised for its innovative, safety-first approach. Its LVG log grapples developed and built for stevedoring client C3 were a finalist in the New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Awards. The grapples effectively reduce risks to workplace health and safety, making a dangerous wharf-side jobs safer for staff.
The company’s engineering expertise is also being employed widely across industries including pulp and paper, power generation, processing, and infrastructure, helping clients develop sustainable, long-term solutions to their engineering challenges.
The year ahead is now led by Page Macrae’s new CEO Alan Sutcliffe. As an ex-board member since 2018, Alan is highly familiar with the company and its many facets. With 25 years of leadership and project management across multiple industries he is well versed in taking the company through its next growth phase.
In the dynamic, rapidly changing industrial scene Page Macrae’s leadership and staff are looking forward to delivering sustainable solutions from right here in Tauranga to clients across the country, and the world.
