A thought-leader, Cam is pioneering a new era of client-focused, marketing-first real estate firms. He is deeply passionate about delivering a world-class, specialist service to Oliver Road’s clients, and most importantly – producing results that consistently exceed expectations.
Cam grew up in the Bay of Plenty and from a very young age it was obvious his path could lead to a career in sales and marketing. From a somewhat unsuccessful introduction to the industry at age 4 – when he tried to sell a stray cat to the neighbour – through to an incident at age 14, when, much to the confusion of all involved, he sold $1,600 worth of ski gear to a customer, despite not working at the shop they were in, this innate passion has grown and matured, and is evident in all things he has applied himself to in adult life.
Cam simply doesn’t settle for second best and believes those selling a unique, high-value Bay of Plenty home shouldn’t either. Over the past twelve years, Cam has sold more than 500 properties and since 2018 has worked exclusively with the owners of unique, high value Bay of Plenty homes.
In the late 2000s, a productive impatience saw Cam drop out of his university study and dive head-first into the world of business. At age 18, this took the form of his first company – Focus Marketing. In partnership with another like-minded young entrepreneur, Cam built this successful company from the ground up – establishing a client base which included Rodney Wayne and Pitstop, along with other nationwide brands.
Featured on TVNZ’s Breakfast and Lonely Planet, another start-up that Cam front-footed was Stay2011.com. This website pre-dated AirBnb’s presence in New Zealand, and was the answer to the question many had on their minds approaching the 2011 Rugby World Cup “How do we rent a couch, a room, or our entire house to capitalise on the huge impending influx of overseas visitors?”
Following these earlier endeavours in the sales and marketing arena, in 2010 (just two years after the GFC) Cam entered the real estate industry and has never looked back.
Over the past twelve years, Cam has sold more than 500 properties and since founding Oliver Road in 2017 has worked exclusively with the owners of unique, high value Bay of Plenty homes.
Joined by Jason Eves in 2019 and Ben Hawan in 2022. Together, and with invaluable support from their business team, they have established a formidable track-record and reputation in the market.
In 2019, Cam met Isis – an interior designer and project manager in the property industry – and in 2021 they welcomed their first child ‘Fox’ into the world. Having recently turned two, Fox is already proving to be a formidable negotiator and giving Cam a run for his money!
