The recent Gala Dinner featuring Richie and Gemma McCaw at Trustpower Baypark drew almost 1000 attendees, including a who’s who of Tauranga’s business community.

Organised by Events Innovated, the event featured a series of interviews by well-known broadcaster Peter Williams with the McCaws as they discussed challenges on and off the rugby and hockey fields.

Bay of Plenty Business News was pleased to be a co-sponsor of this event, which also provided a fund-raising opportunity for the Wish4Fish charity set up by Bryce Dinneen, a tetraplegic since a swimming accident in which he broke multiple vertebrae.

The Gala Dinner included an auction of donated items  – run by Frank Vosper of Vosper Realty – which  raised $70,000, plus a further $7000 in donations for Wish4Fish, which Dinneen  set up to organise fishing trips for people with disabilities.
