When it comes to identifying talent, there is a team of specialists in the region whose focus on relationship building has made them stand out over the last 16 years – so much so that they have become the go-to HR partners for some of the region’s most successful organisations.

Talent ID Recruitment founder Kellie Hamlett is proud of those relationships, which she sees as an endorsement of their team’s professionalism and the complete package they offer, from compiling position descriptions, advertising the role, to shortlisting candidates, psychometric testing, and negotiating terms.

“A number of the businesses we work with have trusted us to place their entire teams,” she says.

“And when they grow, or change they automatically come back to us because they know we will place the right person in the right role, adding capability to their team. We can do that because we understand their culture.”

“In that respect, I guess we are like business partners.”

Talent ID is a regionally based recruitment consultancy with offices across the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Hawke’s Bay regions.

Kellie started Talent ID in 2007 with the goal of offering specialist, high-level services to clients nationwide from a regional location.

The company has a very personalised approach to recruitment and has years of expertise recruiting high level management roles to the regions and broadening the reach of their recruitment drives.

“We know the employment market well. We are forward thinking and use the most up-to-date technology to offer a complete recruitment service to both candidates and clients. This gives businesses the best shot at fulfilling roles and frees them up to focus on their core business,” she says.

Talent ID has a team of six, all women. They opened a new Hawke’s Bay office in July 2023, undeterred by the dramatic fallout from the cyclone in the region that year.

Kellie recalls she was very philosophical at the time: “We knew there was going to be a rebuild, and we knew there was a need down there.”

“Our partnership approach in the regions is reassuring during uncertain times. It reminds us of our long-term commitment to the regions, and that it benefits everyone.”

“When we partner with our clients, we get to know them well and know their culture. We consistently offer them more than what they would achieve recruiting on their own. That’s why they come back to us.”
