James is an experienced lawyer in the corporate and commercial fields and also in the projects space and advises clients on a broad range of matters.
James brings a wealth of expertise to the Bay of Plenty having worked at top tier law firms in Auckland and a global law firm in London prior to making the move to Tauranga with his young family in 2021. He has advised on several of New Zealand’s leading transactions, especially in the infrastructure space.

James has hit the ground running since joining Sharp Tudhope and forging strong relationships with clients with his pragmatic and commercial approach to legal issues.
With over 15 years in the profession, James’ experience spans across many sectors and a wide variety of clients from large corporate and financial institutions through to small-medium sized enterprises and closely held family businesses.
James is particularly passionate about helping business thrive in the region and is currently a board member of the Tauranga Business Chamber.
