Trustpower Baypark continues to break records

Trustpower Baypark has a fresh new look and each year breaks its previous record for attendance at their summer events and through the year. The number of events just keeps growing, with a multitude of entertainment, business and sporting events and trade shows.

The Business After 5 (BA5) is the Chamber of Commerce’s flagship event and a fantastic networking opportunity for local businesses. 

Trustpower Baypark hosts the first BA5 each year and highlights a different venue or activity within their portfolio. 

This year proved to be Trustpower Baypark’s most thrilling BA5 yet as it coincided with the practice night of The NZ Stock Car Championships 2019.

Records were broken with the largest entry speedway New Zealand Championships to date and featured 186 drivers. Including the pit crews for each driver, the Championships brought 1,000 competitors to Tauranga. 

Drivers competed over two nights (February 15 & 16) to win the title of New Zealand Stock Car Champion 2018/2019 and the famous 1NZ racing number. 

First place went to Stratford based Tyler Walker (Dairymaster Racing 33s Stockcar). Speedway fans flocked in from throughout New Zealand during the weekend for non-stop action.

On 5 April, for the first time in New Zealand, Nashville Live is set to transport country music fans right into the heart of downtown Nashville, celebrating the atmosphere and energy of an evening in the home of country music. 

The show features performances from some of the hottest country musicians, so prepare be taken back to the Grand Old Opry and through the country music history featuring songs from Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton to Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks.

Nashville Live will feature four of the top country music acts stepping up alongside the live house band. With Musical Direction by Luke Thomas, British Country Music Association Musician of the Year (2017), Nashville Live follows in the traditions of Tennessee to recreate a truthful evening straight out of Nashville.

The NZ Tattoo and Art Extravaganza is at Trustpower Arena on13 & 14 April and will be bigger than ever with more artists, multiple stages, and entertainment.
